German kitchen brands have played a prominent role in the development of our projects and have helped make Buraglia a leader in kitchen design in Valencia. To achieve success in the dynamic world of interior design, we’ve had to overcome numerous challenges. Below, I highlight some of the key factors that have made this possible.
Expanding the Concept of a Store
The Buraglia team has spent many years transforming a family-owned business into more than just a store selling German kitchen furniture. We believe that perhaps the most important key to our project’s success lies in having redefined the concept of a “store” and becoming a “kitchen studio,” offering not just furniture, but a complete experience. From exciting renderings to high-quality products, we strive to exceed our customers’ expectations.
Management at Buraglia: Fundamental Aspects
Another article on this blog has already delved into project management at Buraglia, but it’s worth highlighting four key aspects.
Initial Screening
In the first phase, we apply a “screening” process to our sales outreach to identify genuine clients. A series of questions and actions determines whether a client represents a real opportunity or is simply seeking superficial information.
Emotional Selling
Our proposal presentations are deeply rooted in “emotional selling,” helping clients fall in love with their future spaces.
Thorough Project Review
A comprehensive review of the project in terms of measurements and design, ensuring that every detail is perfectly aligned before confirming the order with the factory.
Time Management
Meticulous tracking of timelines throughout the sales process, with a focus on the elegant completion and closure of the project, while addressing any issues promptly.
Staying at the Forefront of Trends
Staying abreast of the latest trends means looking beyond borders. While the latest technical and design innovations are drawn from direct competitors, the inspiration for the style that will define the market comes from premium Italian firms such as Modulnova, Ernestomeda, Boffi, etc.—key references for understanding the future of kitchen design.
Challenges: The Team and Generational Adaptation
Building an efficient and coordinated team is essential, as is adapting to the mindset of the new generation, with its flexibility in work schedules and focus on work-life balance. These are fundamental aspects for retaining talent in an evolving work environment.
The Quality and Reliability of German Kitchens
Another key to Buraglia’s success has been partnering with German companies. German kitchen furniture and appliances stand out for their quality and leadership in global production. Brands such as Schüller and next125 guarantee not only product quality but also reliable delivery times and efficient resolution of issues—all at competitive prices.
MHK: Transforming a Factory into a Design Studio with a Distinctive Vision
MHK is Europe’s leading association of small and medium-sized specialty retailers of kitchens and furniture. Buraglia has been a member for many years, and I now have the pleasure of serving as its president after being elected in December 2023. MHK has been a crucial ally in Buraglia’s transformation from a furniture factory to an interior design studio. In addition to providing strategic guidance and quality products, MHK has supported Buraglia’s transition from mass production to a design studio with a distinct vision.
Participating in MHK events and meetings with other members provides a valuable network of knowledge and collaboration. The importance of belonging to MHK translates into collective strength and protection against price fluctuations in the market.
Lessons Learned and Business Advice
After years of experience, we have come to realize the importance of staying attuned to the market, being prudent with expenses, and working hard to maintain financial stability. Personally, as the manager of Buraglia, my advice to other entrepreneurs is clear: be bold, be different, and never stop evolving. Being an entrepreneur requires the courage to challenge convention and be the first to innovate.
In today’s digital world, we at Buraglia have sought to capitalize on online opportunities. We’ve expanded our presence on social media and enhanced our website. Creating authentic content, combined with SEO and SEM campaigns, has been key. Adapting to changing customer demands involves listening, expanding services, and streamlining processes.
In summary: stay attuned to the market, practice financial prudence, and constantly differentiate yourself.
The Future of Interior Design: Designing Versatile Homes
I envision a future where kitchens are used less frequently as dining dynamics change. However, in Spain, the culinary culture and the importance of sharing moments at home will endure. At Buraglia, our contribution goes beyond kitchen design; we seek to reinterpret entire homes with a holistic approach.
At Buraglia, we don’t just design kitchens—we create experiences—and we are fully committed to excellence and constant evolution in the ever-changing world of design and business management.
